ASMP ON THE WORLD WIDE WEB - A database of members, searchable by region and specialty, membership information, news, publications, features, a members-only forum and link to other important sites are on the ASMP Web site. Buyers and clients can locate ASMP members through the Find a Photographer feature on the ASMP National site.

SPECIAL INTEREST GROUPS - In order to address needs and concerns unique to certain fields, ASMP has created special interest groups in areas such as architecture, photojournalism, sports, and underwater.

CHAPTER AFFILIATION - The ASMP chapter network now covers 40 cities, states or regions plus an array of foreign cities. These local chapters provide a wide range of seminars, workshops and local news, as well as the opportunity to exchange views and information with your colleagues. Networking is a major benefit of ASMP membership.

EDUCATION - ASMP is committed to furthering education for photographers of all levels through its publications and programs.

INSURANCE - Life, comprehensive medical, major medical, and disability insurance are all available. ASMP offers an accidental death and dismemberment plan. The Society pioneered the development of Prosurance, a liability and camera insurance policy designed for professional photographers. Coverage may also be obtained for workers compensation, weather, animal mortality, cast/models and umbrella liability. A program is also available to members only to insure funds for losses incurred through incorrect processing by labs.

GOOD OFFICES - Members receive consultation and advice on business problems and concerns from expert staff at ASMP's national office.

MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES AND FEES

General Member : Annual Dues - $300.00 (with a one time Find A Photographer Fee of $50)
Photographer must be actively and professionally engaged in publication photography with three or more consecutive years of experience from date of first published work. This publication must generate the major portion (over 50%) of earned income. General Members are the only voting members of the Society and receive all publications and benefits of the society at no charge. A review of publication experience is required and applicants must be sponsored by two General Members.

Associate Member : Annual Dues - $200.00
Photographer must be actively and professionally engaged in publication photography with at least one year but less than three years of experience from date first published work. This publication must generates the major portion (over 50%) of earned income. Associate Members receive all publications and benefits of the society at no charge. A review of publication experience is required and applicants must be sponsored by two General Members.

Emerging Associate Member : Annual Dues - $125.00
A one year membership for photographers just starting their practice of photographer assistants about to become independant photographers..

Indivudual Affiliate : Annual Dues - $200.00
Individuals in professions associated with photography. This affiliation is for members of organizations employed to supply or sell to photographers in some way: lab owners, stock agency owners, manufacturer’s representatives and photographer’s representatives. Applicants must by sponsored by two General Members.

Student Affiliate : Annual Dues - $55.00
Full-time students at the college level or above majoring in the visual communications field. Written proof of full-time college enrollment from a department head, admissions office, class schedule, etc. on official school letterhead must accompany application.
